NOTICEABLY SHARPER THROUGH EVERY TREATMENT

The slimmer, sharper working ends of XP² instruments glide precisely and easily into periodontal pockets and narrow interproximal spaces. XP² instruments require less effort and deliver more control – for an ergonomic, fatigue-free experience – patient after patient.

More Comfort, Less Fatigue.

CLINICAL EFFICIENCY THAT FEELS GOOD

Optimized cutting edges and ultra-light EagleLite® resin handles, the lightest on the market, help minimize hand and wrist fatigue, easing strain and supporting better control – even during long appointments. The balanced instrument weight and knurl grip pattern enhance tactile sensitivity and improve overall clinical confidence. This noticeably reduces the risk of overuse injuries and ensures you can work long term in a relaxed manner.

State-of-the-Art Metal

XP² Sharpen-Free technology is NOT a coating. We combine titanium nitride and carbon with stainless steel to create a strong, always-sharp metal.

Superior to Stainless Steel

XP² edges start and stay sharp longer than any instrument on the market. They retain their edge and tip design longer than traditional stainless steel.

Enhanced Ergonomics

A sharper metal means using less pressure to remove calculus. Lighter, balanced instruments help reduce hand fatigue and improve comfort.

Built for Confidence

Lighter in your hand and sharper at the blade — XP² instruments support precise, consistent care from the first patient to the last.

Never a Dull Moment with XP²

Nano-optimized XP² Technology™ is featured in American Eagle Scalers, Curettes, Gracey™, Quik-Tip™, and Composite instruments, making it possible to produce thinner working ends and sharper cutting edges. With XP² you save yourself the trouble of resharpening – forever. No reworking, no change in shape due to incorrect sharpening, and no loss of time. Giving you more time for your treatments and assisting your team in their day-to-day work.

Sharpest Factory Edge Ever

The unique characteristics of XP² Technology produce a razor sharp edge, that starts sharp and stays sharper, longer than any other stainless or carbon steel instrument available on the market.

Thinner Blade Design

Since XP² instruments never need sharpening, we designed them with the thinnest blades in the industry. This allows for easier access of periodontal pockets and interproximal areas.

Saves You Time & Money

When used properly, an XP² instrument will outlast any standard instrument, which saves you money. By eliminating the need for sharpening, your time can be used more productively.

Standard Reprocessing Protocol

With XP² Sharpen-Free Instruments, there is no special reprocessing required. You can feel confident autoclaving your instruments as normal.

What Makes XP² Instruments Sharpen-Free?

When titanium nitride and carbon are permeated with high-quality stainless steel, the instrument’s metallurgic composition changes, making a much more durable material known as XP² Technology. It is NOT a coating that can be removed, as the technology is embedded within the metal itself.

Below is a close-up of the resulting defect-free surface of the smooth XP² metal vs. the bumpy non-XP² metal. The bumps you see are pieces of large macroparticles that may cause a patient to notice a louder “scratchy” sound due to surface roughness. XP² Sharpen-Free instruments help decrease auditory discomfort.

How Do XP² Instruments Compare to Conventional Scalers?

XP² instruments are made using a patented process that blends two super-strong metals into one, changing the metallurgic makeup to create a razor-sharp edge that stays sharp throughout the instrument’s lifespan. Independent research has recognized XP² Technology as a revolutionary breakthrough in the dental industry. Dr. Phillip Watson from the University of Toronto was able to demonstrate the superior durability of the XP² instruments compared to standard instruments.
